High Pressure Water Jetting
Your drainage system remains out of sight and out of mind and is never a problem until it stops working. All drain lines need a clean at some point in their lives and materials such as scale, silt, fat, oil and grease can inevitably accumulate which will reduce the flow and can even lead to a total blockage.
High Pressure Water Jetting has become the most effective method for clearing and cleaning drainage lines and sewers. The process can be used to remove soft material and flush out the drain lines or it can also be utilised to remove hard substances such as cement and scale.
The methodology behind standard water jetting is simple. Powerful jets of water are produced by a pump developing pressures as low 500 psi for flushing out soft material and pressures up to 4,000 psi to strip any scale deposits from the sides of the pipe, flush it away and leave the pipe in a clear and free flowing condition.
High Pressure Water jetting can be used in both domestic and commercial instances. In the commercial world, process pipe work needs to be kept clean and clear from obstructions. At worst, failure to do this could result in very expensive ‘down time’, at best as scale and residues builds up and the drainage systems efficiency declines.
Ultra high pressure water jetting can also be used. This is a specialist piece of equipment were pressures of up to 30,000 psi can be reached. This is predominantly used for either removing or cutting through extremely solid materials such as concrete.
High pressure water jetting on its own is highly effective for cleaning duties and waste product removal such as boiler scale, milk scale, polymer resins and carbon deposits; however its versatility is endless. If water is used in conjunction with the Plas Gwilym Environmental range of environmentally friendly cleaning products, then the cleaning regime possibilities are endless.
If used along with a hand held jetting lance, jets of water can deep-clean floors, walls, containment tanks, plant and machinery of some of the toughest dirt. A simple de-scaling procedure can remove deposits of oil, paints, graffiti, rubber and cement spillages. The list of applications for high pressure water jetting is virtually limitless.
