CCTV

Plas Gwilym Environmental Limited carry out Closed Circuit Television Surveys (CCTV).

During routine drain clearance operations it is possible to suspect that the drain has some form of a structural defect that may need to be accurately identified so that a diagnosis for remedial action can be made.

The philosophy behind Plas Gwilym Environmental CCTV surveys is the more accurate the information we can glean, the more accurate our diagnosis will be, which therefore leads to the most cost effective repair solution.

Using our sophisticated CCTV equipment with state-of-the-art technology to reproduce pictures of the highest quality, our technical operators can see the exact condition of the internal pipe work and assess its structural integrity. These reports allow us to report the exact cause and nature of the problems being experienced.

The CCTV unit can traverse the drain in a number of ways. It can either be manually pushed into the drain line on a semi-rigid fibre optic rod or on a remote controlled ‘tractorised’ unit which has the capability to reach lengths in excess of 300 metres. Our CCTV units can inspect pipes with internal diameters ranging from 25mm to over 1 meter.

The information collected by the camera is shown on a TV monitor in ‘real-time’ along with its exact location which is identified by an on screen meterage reading. The meterage can be double checked by using an above ground sonar detector to locate the sonde contained within the CCTV unit.

These pictures, along with full written text are recorded onto a DVD and sent to the client in conjunction with a written synopsis of our findings.
